Garage Services
We offer competitive rates on a full range of mechanical services from brake pads to batteries, shock absorbers to steering racks, clutches, cam belts and computer diagnostics, we have it covered. We can also prepare and present your car for MOT.
Don't forget we also offer a free courtesy car and a collection and delivery service to make your life just that little bit easier.
We are particularly keen to promote the benefits of servicing as all cars require regular maintenance. Although service intervals have lengthened for more modern cars, they will on average need servicing annually or every 6-12,000 miles. (Check your handbook for details.) Servicing is important as it ensures your vehicle is in good shape and can detect faults or problems in their early stages, potentially saving you money. For more details about what happens at a service, check out the ‘Servicing Made Simple’ article below.
At every service we complete a Good Garage Scheme industry standard service checklist which provides you with a detailed list of work carried out and advice about the general condition of your vehicle. Click here to view a sample.

Servicing Made Simple
Although a cause of concern for many motorists, a correctly carried out service should be viewed in a positive light as it can save you money and ensure your car is safe and reliable.
So what happens when the ‘grease monkeys’ close the doors on your cars annual service?
All services whether interim or full, should include an oil and filter change. Oil is a vital component in your engine as it keeps it lubricated but over time its condition deteriorates and it gets dirty. As it circulates around the engine, the oil passes through a special filter which removes particles of dirt, carbon and fragments of metal that could otherwise cause damage. This filter gradually gets clogged up which is why it is important to change it regularly. It is vital to ensure that the garage who service your car use the correct grade and specification of oil as recommended my your vehicle's manufacturer. Failure to do so will invalidate your warranty and can cause serious damage. Gone are the days of one grade fits all!
At major services other filters are also changed. These include the air filter which ensures the air that enters the engine is clean, a fuel filter which sits in the fuel lines between your fuel tank and the engine and again removes any dirt particles and a pollen or cabin filter which cleans the air that comes into the car through the air vents. In petrol cars the spark plugs also need replacing; the interval for this will depend on the make and model of car and the type of plugs used.
Replacing these items regularly improves your car’s performance and efficiency and prolongs its life expectancy.
As well as replacing parts the service technician should also check all steering and suspension components for wear, brakes for condition and efficiency and check all lights and other electrical items. Tyres are checked for condition, tread depth and pressure and all hinges, latches and catches are greased to insure they work properly. Also, the condition of brake fluid and anti freeze is assessed and replaced when necessary and the screen wash topped up.
Your car should also be taken for a road test so the technician can detect any faults that may not show up on an inspection lift.
So as you can see from the list above, a correctly performed service is a thorough health check and maintenance schedule for your car and can save you money by improving fuel economy, prolonging life expectancy and spotting problems in the early stages before they become big, expensive ones!
Most importantly though, a service insures that your car is safe and roadworthy and should be considered an important and worthwhile expense not an expensive and scary experience!
